So I’m busy this week and next getting ready for PAX.
PAX stands for ‘Penny Arcade Expo’, which is a video game convention in downtown Seattle.
I believe I have mentioned I am proudly a gigantic nerd.
I’m working on making myself something special to wear to the convention like last year, causing me to spend a lot more time at the sewing machine than in the kitchen or in front of the computer.
But fear not! I’m leaving you with something incredibly wonderful to tide you over.
2 years ago I made Darth Vader cookies to celebrate my 2 year work anniversary! This act was actually bucking tradition. Tradition at my work place is for each year you work at the company, you bring in 1 lb. of M&Ms on your anniversary.
So for my anniversary I brought in 4 lbs. of M&Ms. But they didn’t all arrive there in bags.
Some came in a cheesecake bar.
I’m kind of obsessed with muffins lately.
I just keep opening my cupboards on Saturday mornings to see what I can stuff into a muffin so that I may eat many muffins.
They’re like healthy versions of cakes for breakfast! At least the “healthy” part is what I tell myself while I’m halfway through my second muffin in 5 minutes…
I hate key limes.
Wait, no, I don’t. Their limey flavour with a particularly tart edge is perfect for baked goods. Perhaps a better way to phrase it is key limes hate me.
No… that’s not it either.
Oh! I know what it is. I hate prepping key limes. I’m a big advocate of doing things “fresh”. Freshly grated nutmeg, fresh instead of frozen berries, freshly squeezed juice… But freshly squeezing enough key limes for a key lime pie?
Urgh. Screw fresh.
